Embark on a 2-day vacation on a desert safari from Ouarzazate to Erg Lihoudi. Drive through the Anti Atlas Mountains and through Agdz. Itinerary

Day 1

Ouarzazate – Erg Lihoudi Dunes

Start your desert tour from Ouarzazate to Erg Lihoudi via Agdez at the end of the Draa Valley. You can have a coffee or tea break here. Next, drive off-piste and through the endless palm groves of the Draa Valley to Zagora. This is the last town before the desert where lunch will be held. Continue to M'hamid El Ghizlane in the afternoon. This is where the tarmac ends and the desert begins. Here, a one-hour camel ride takes you to a desert camp on the dunes of Erg Lihoudi. Upon arrival, you will be served mint tea and Moroccan biscuits. You can then climb to the top of the dunes for an unforgettable sunset. In the evening, try dinner under the stars in the Sahara Desert. Then enjoy a small party with nomadic music and singing by the fire pit. Overnight in a private nomadic tent at the foot of the dunes.

Day 2

Erg Lihoudi Dunes – Ouarzazate

If you get up early in the morning, you can climb to the top of the dunes. You'll enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of sunrise and stunning dune vistas. After breakfast, return to Mhamid by camel. Your desert tour continues north to the village of Tamegroute. Visit the green pottery workshop here and learn how to recreate your favorite ceramic items. Next, drive north on the old caravan route to Kasbah Tamnougalte. After lunch, visit the ancient castle with a local guide. The Kasbah is constructed entirely of clay and is still partially inhabited. Your desert adventure continues to Agdz, where you will stop for tea or coffee. You will cross the Anti-Atlas mountains and the Tizi n Tinfifite pass before returning to Ouarzazate at the end of the day. Your adventure from Ouarzazate to the Erg Lihoudi desert is over!
